His Majesty, Bhumipol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand was born on Monday the 5th of December 1927, at Mount Auburn Hospital, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A., being the third and youngest child of Their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Mahidol of Songkla. 

He was given the significant name of Bhumibol Adulyadej, meaning Strength of the Land Incomparable Power which becomes prophetic as his Reign advances through various critical periods and the Thai nation evolves more and more around the Throne as the sole sources of unity and strength.

Thai people love their king

 

 

His majesty is revered by Thai people. He devotes his energy helping his'people more than 60 years.  He moved back to Thailand in 1951 and began visiting his people in the rural areas. He brought medical teams and developing plans. He suggested Thai farmers about irrigation problems as well as hilltribes to eradicated the opium growing and substituted by valuable crops.

 

 

Recently, the King has not been able to travel and visit other places due to health problems. He still contributes his funds. In the recent flooding disaster in 2011, the King's team has visited and helped Thai people according to the King's instructionas well as suggested Thai government about flood management.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In his 84th birthday speech at the Grand Palace, he called his contrymen to unite in response to the worst floods crisis, urging people to overcome divisions and set up sustainable water management. "It is a duty of everyone to cooperate and help each other," he said.
